Wouldn’t you rather own a home than rent? Learn how this can be possible at the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce’s Noontime Knowledge on Monday, May 18 from 12-1 pm via virtual Zoom event.
Affordable homeownership for qualified buyers is possible with a Community Land Trust. Join Kellie Minnerath, Joe Niehaus and Janelle Bennett of West Central MN Communities Action (WCMCA) to learn how WCMCA’s Community Land Trust offers homeownership opportunities for those currently locked out of the market due to rising costs of homes. Learn what a Community Land Trust is, how it makes homeownership permanently affordable and what it can do for the Alexandria area.
WCMCA is located in Elbow Lake and Alexandria, MN and has been in existence since 1965, serving households primarily in Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens and Traverse counties in West Central Minnesota. The mission of WCMCA is “Partnering to build community and empower people to overcome poverty and achieve their full potential.” WCMCA has been a developer of affordable housing for more than 15 years and will now be offering homes in a Community Land Trust creating permanently affordable homes.
May’s Noontime Knowledge is generously sponsored by Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union. Noontime Knowledge is held the third Monday of each month. For more information, call the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce at 320-763-3161 or email [email protected]
