SUMMARY:Drop Off Days for the DCHS Scarecrow Contest
DESCRIPTION:⏰ It’s time—our annual Scarecrow Contest is just around the corner\, and you could scare up first place this year! It’s never too early to start planning your entry!\n💸 Participation is $10 per scarecrow\, with prizes paid out to the 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place entries (determined by public voting.)\n🍁 Scarecrows may be of any theme\, construction\, materials\, etc with the conditions that they are display-ready and family-friendly. Ten metal posts are available on a first-come first-served basis on the south lawn\, which is exposed to weather including wind and potential snow.\n🍂 Scarecrow drop-off/set-up days are October 13-16 and 19-23\, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on business days\, and voting will take place October 26 – Nov 1.\n🛠️ Participants are responsible for setting up their own scarecrow on the lawn.\n☑️ Instructions on how to vote for your favorite will be announced once scarecrows are in place!\n🔎 Do you have questions\, or are you interested in entering the 2026 contest?\n📞 Contact us via phone at 320-762-0382\n📧 Email us at historic@dchsmn.org

DESCRIPTION:Join UCAN and Someplace Safe for the 26th Annual Domestic Abuse Awareness Luncheon on Wednesday\, October 14\, 2026\, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Broadway Ballroom. \nThis annual community event brings people together to raise awareness of domestic abuse\, support survivors\, and remember those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence. \nWe are honored to welcome guest speaker Kari Kerr\, MA\, LPC\, Vice President of Prevention\, Education and Violence Intervention at the Community Violence Intervention Center in Grand Forks\, North Dakota. With more than 24 years of experience in victim advocacy\, violence prevention\, and professional training\, Kari brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this year’s luncheon. \nThe luncheon will also feature our annual Silhouette Ceremony\, honoring those who lost their lives to domestic violence in 2025. \nTickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table of 8.
