DESCRIPTION:As businesses continue to face workforce recruitment and retention challenges\, opportunities are available through Minnesota’s Dual-Training Pipeline program. Learn more at an upcoming one-hour\, informative\, virtual Listen & Learn event on Thursday\, October 15 from 10-11 am. \nDan Solomon and Sarah Hill from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry’s Dual-Training Pipeline program will share how earn-and-learn training opportunities can assist with your company’s recruitment and retention strategies. Dual-Training Pipeline exists as a resource to support employers in advanced manufacturing\, agriculture\, childcare\, health care services\, information technology\, legal cannabis\, and transportation industries. Attendees will learn how to start their own dual-training program as well as how to tap into state grants to help pay for earn-and-learn employee training. \nThe event is open to everyone and is free of charge. DESCRIPTION:Designed specifically for the business community\, Geometry of a Leader addresses one of today’s greatest challenges: leading effectively in difficult times. The workshop provides a focused retreat experience where participants will explore practical ways to lead with greater presence\, humility\, and courage – three foundational characteristics of impactful leadership. \nDuring the program\, attendees will learn how to be more present with the people they serve\, humble enough to seek the wisdom of others\, and courageous enough to follow their vision despite challenges. Participants will leave inspired and empowered to confidently pursue their call to lead and make a positive impact within their organizations and the broader community. \nThe workshop\, hosted by the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission in partnership with Youth Frontiers\, will be held Tuesday\, October 27\, at the Broadway Ballroom Event Center\, 115 30th Ave. E. Networking begins at 7:30 a.m. with the program running from 8 to 11:45 a.m. A light breakfast and coffee will be provided.
