SUMMARY:Take A Stand Against Domestic Violence
DESCRIPTION:Join Someplace Safe and UCAN for the 20th Annual Take A Stand Against Domestic Violence on Tuesday\, October 13\, 2026\, at The Church of St. Mary. \nThis free community event brings people together to raise awareness of domestic violence and show support for survivors. The evening will begin with a short walk from the church to Broadway Street\, where participants will hold signs and take a stand against domestic violence. We will then return to the church for a light supper and a message from guest speaker Nikie Roen\, a survivor of domestic violence. \nThe event is free and open to the community. We invite everyone to join us in standing together to raise awareness\, support survivors\, and take a stand against domestic violence.

DESCRIPTION:Join UCAN and Someplace Safe for the 26th Annual Domestic Abuse Awareness Luncheon on Wednesday\, October 14\, 2026\, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Broadway Ballroom. \nThis annual community event brings people together to raise awareness of domestic abuse\, support survivors\, and remember those whose lives have been lost to domestic violence. \nWe are honored to welcome guest speaker Kari Kerr\, MA\, LPC\, Vice President of Prevention\, Education and Violence Intervention at the Community Violence Intervention Center in Grand Forks\, North Dakota. With more than 24 years of experience in victim advocacy\, violence prevention\, and professional training\, Kari brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this year’s luncheon. \nThe luncheon will also feature our annual Silhouette Ceremony\, honoring those who lost their lives to domestic violence in 2025. \nTickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table of 8.
