Community AED/Safety Cabinet Training

Community members and local businesses are invited to participate in an upcoming community AED/safety cabinet training designed to increase awareness and confidence in using Automated External Defibrillators (AEDS) during a cardiac emergency along with Naloxone and Stop-the-Bleeds kits during other health emergencies.
Last summer, a volunteer group successfully brought six Community Safety/AED cabinets to downtown Alexandria, providing greater access to life-saving equipment throughout the community. To build on that effort, organizers are now offering hands-on training to help residents, employees, and community members become familiar with AED operation and emergency response procedures.
While safety cabinets contain easy-to-follow instructions, hands-on experience is invaluable in helping individuals feel comfortable and prepared to act in a critical situation. Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn how these devices work and gain the confidence needed to respond during an emergency.
The training will take place in the conference room of Old National Bank located at 317 Broadway St., Ste. 100 on Tuesday, July 28 at 10 am. Training will last about an hour. For additional questions or to register, email Lauren Johnson at marketing@alexandriamn.org or call the Alexandria Chamber at 320-763-3161.
