Join Legacy of the Lakes Museum for a fun and educational “Lake Day” at Smokey Timbers Camp. This event offers a unique opportunity to learn about water quality while enjoying various water sports and activities. For grades 6th and up, cost is $10. Children must bring their own lunch and snacks. Space is limited so register today!
Water Quality Education
Dive into the science of water quality and understand the importance of maintaining clean and healthy lakes. The day will start at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum parking lot where we will board a bus to tour Alexandria Lake Area Sanitary District wastewater treatment plant. Following the educational tour, we will travel to Smokey Timbers Camp on the beautiful Lake Miltona to enjoy various lake activities.
Lake Day Activities
Participants will be coached to use paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boats and experience the thrill of wakesurfing. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer, Mike Jost from Hang Loose MN will guide you through the basics and will have you up and riding before you know it! Participants must have a lifejacket! Don’t forget your swimsuits, towels, and sunscreen.
The bus will return to Legacy of the Lakes Museum parking lot at 3:30 pm for parent pick up.
