Learn how to navigate the holidays amid family addiction at a one-hour, free, virtual Listen & Learn event on Tuesday, November 19 from 12-1 pm.
While the holidays can be a special time full of happy, reflective moments, they can also be fraught with stress, strained family dynamics, and high social demands. If a loved one is struggling with problematic substance use, the holiday season can be an especially difficult time. Holiday events often involve alcohol, and the season itself can trigger emotional challenges. Add in family conflicts and the usual demands of life, and it’s easy to see why the holidays can be particularly difficult for those struggling with substance use and those who love them.
Laurie Healy, Family Coach and Invitational Interventionist with Laurie Healy Consulting, LLC, will present this session, which is meant for anyone impacted by addiction, with specific emphasis on family members. It is also intended for industry providers, as well as friends and colleagues concerned about someone with problematic substance use.
The event is open to everyone and is free of charge. Register by visiting the Alexandria Chamber website at alexandriamn.org and look for the registration link on the main page.
