‘Tis the season for Alexandria’s annual holiday kick-off, Parade of Trees and Christmas in the Fort! The best part? This event is 100% free to the community.

On Friday, November 24 from 3-6 pm, visit the BoatHouse at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum to view the holiday trees decorated by local businesses, clubs, and organizations. Enjoy our hot cocoa bar and make s’mores over the fire. We’ll also have a photo opportunity for a holiday memory, provided by Creations by ‘Sota Weddings.

This year, the Friends of Christmas will have the Legacy Gardens lit up with a walking holiday light display.

The fun continues next door at the Runestone Museum with Christmas in the Fort! Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy cookies and cider, and listen to amazing choral performances. Just follow the lighted path between the two museum campuses.

The BoatHouse will also be open Saturday and Sunday (Nov 25 & 26) from 5-8 pm for holiday tree viewing (cocoa and s’mores are Friday only).
