Habitat for Humanity – Blessing of the Women Build Ceremony

Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County invites the public to a Blessing of the Build for the 2023 Women Build homebuyer, Jackie. The short ceremony will begin at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 112 W Queen St, Osakis.

The Blessing of the Build is a time to proclaim that Habitat homes are built on the foundation of God’s love with the support of volunteers and the community. The event will end with participants using markers to write blessings and words of encouragement for the family on the boards of the home.

Habitat’s homeownership program is a long-term solution to the critical need for affordable housing. Habitat homebuyers help build their homes alongside volunteers and then purchase the home from Habitat with an affordable mortgage.

Ribbon Cutting: Alexandria Community Mural

Join us for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the completion of Alexandria’s first community mural Saturday, July 8 at 11 am!

Located in the back area of Real Estate by Jo, across from Big Ole Park, the community mural project consists of 30 inch by 30 inch squares each painted by community members of all ages and abilities. The completed image represents the Alexandria Lakes area in shades of blue.
