Snowshoe Lacing Workshop
Lace your own pair of snowshoes during this two day workshop. You will be provided with the equipment and instruction needed to lace your own traditional Ojibwe-style snowshoes. Learn this skill from an experienced instructor through this hands-on and rewarding workshop. This workshop is recommended for ages 10 and up and will consist of two consecutive day sessions on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19 from 9am to 4pm at the Visitor Center.
***Participants must attend both days.
The cost is a $85 registration fee. This fee includes the snowshoe kit, materials and instruction, along with coffee, tea, water, and snacks. Rubber bindings are available to purchase at the park for $5/pair. Lunch will not be provided for the weekend workshop, so attendees should bring a sack lunch. A Minnesota state parks vehicle permit is required to enter the park ($7/day or $35/year).

75th Annual Jingle Bells Telethon
This year marks the 75th annual Jingle Bells Telethon. It is a combination of 5-hours of free entertainment and a weekend of giving for families in need throughout the Lakes Area. The telethon itself will take place Saturday, December 8th from 5-10pm at the Alexandria Area High School Performing Arts Center.
Auditions for the telethon will be held in mid-November. Go to the Jingle Bells Foundation website for more details on this and all things connected to the telethon and its efforts.
